The word "bundu" means "grasslands" in Shona a Bantu language native to the Shona people of Zimbabwe and southern Zambia. In South Africa if you say you are going to the "bundu's" it means you going to a wilderness region which is remote from cities… and so the Bundu Safari Company was born.
